Empowering Communities through Climate-Smart Agriculture
AWIFCA, in collaboration with the Centre for Dryland Agriculture, (CDA) successfully conducted a two-day capacity-building workshop empowering 50 participants, including persons with disabilities, with practical skills in home gardening using the sack method. The training focused on organic farming, production of natural fertilisers, and efficient drip irrigation for sustainable water use.
Participants received climate-resilient seedlings—tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, sweet potato, and parsley—to support immediate application and improve success rates. This initiative promotes climate-smart agriculture, strengthens community resilience, and advances inclusive, sustainable livelihoods.
